Discover the creative possibilities of collage in this fun, hands-on workshop for all ages
and skill levels! Guided by collage artist Laura Henneforth, you'll explore the work of
pioneering artists Hannah Höch and Deborah Roberts, learn essential collage techniques,
and create your own custom transparencies to add depth and originality to your artwork.
Each participant will receive a curated packet of family-friendly collage papers and
ephemera, so you can spend your time creating instead of searching for materials.
Whether you come with friends, family, or on your own, you'll leave inspired—and with
several finished collages to take home!
When: Sunday October 11, 2026 from 10am-1pm
Ages/Level: Ages 8+, all experience levels are welcome!
Cost, which includes all materials: $40/non-members, $36/CFAER Members
What Materials Are Included in the Class Fee?:
scissors
Clear packing tape
Substrates (watercolor paper, cardstock)
Watercolor paints
Adhesives (Mod Podge, glue sticks, double-sided tape)
Paint brushes
Water containers/pans
Curated ephemera packets (provided by instructor)
About Teaching Artist Laura Henneforth: Laura Henneforth is a Los Angeles–based collagist whose work explores juxtaposition, play, and the unexpected. Raised in a culturally diverse environment, she developed an early connection to art—drawing before she could read—and continues to approach creativity as a lifelong process of discovery and self-awareness. Her work often incorporates elements of the absurd, encouraging viewers to find humor, curiosity, and new meaning in unlikely combinations. This same spirit guides her teaching. Through workshops and her online presence, she shares collage as an inclusive, low-barrier entry point into art-making, welcoming participants of all ages and skill levels—from first-time makers to experienced artists. Using primarily repurposed and found materials, Laura’s workshops also emphasize sustainability, inviting participants to reimagine everyday paper goods as creative resources. Her teaching prioritizes process over perfection, fostering confidence, experimentation, and personal expression in a supportive and accessible environment.
